Considering a road trip, AZ to VA. Any good advice?

I'm moving to VA in June so I'll be leaving last week of May sometime. I am considering driving ower there. It's 2165 miles the shortest (and prolly most boring way).

Any advice or good tips here?

What type of car are you driving? I am guessing you are going to be hauling stuff? Where are you moving to in VA? 🙂 Southwest VA here. Home of the Virginia Tech Hokies = Blacksburg, VA 😉

My car is really good for long trips. 1997 Olds 88 Regency.
Not hauling anything but some bags.
Moving to Charlottesville VA because my job is moving. 🙁

Hey, Charlottesville isn't that bad. As you probably already know, that's where University of Virginia is located. Its not a metrocity, but decent size 🙂 Also, I think its about 1 - 1,5 hours drive to D.C. from there, so it shouldn't be that bad. The only thing I would worry about is cold 😀 After Arizona, you sure will have freezing fingers during winter 🙂

You forgot muggy-as-hell in summer.
I've got housing taken care of during the last 2 weeks.

For the car I am considering this:

Oil change (was done 500 miles ago)
New serpentine belt.
Extra coolant
Big tool box
Maybe a selction of spare hoses.

Nah, VA's not so bad. I'm from SoMD, and it doesn't get too cold out there.🙂

But it will be a bit of a change.
