Where is the best place I can find a price guide that is also based with milage (ala KBB)?

The closest I could find is NADA but even then they list based on retail dealer value.

Reason I am asking is that I am having second doubts on looking at a 2002 Sabre with 45K miles on it. The bike looks good and the guy had lots of mods on it and it even comes with the stock parts he has and custom painted hardbags and winshield. The problem lies with the amount of miles on it. If I remember correctly, about 45-50K is when the first round of major maintanance comes about.

BTW, the bike is in So CA area and that explains the miles on it as he uses it mainly as his prime transportation.

Also, for those who actually own the Shadow series for a good amount of time, or even motorcycles in general, how reliable are they in their upper milage timeframe?

if taken care of, you can easily get 100k miles on a bike engine. It's all in owner maintainence and neglect. Find some forums specific to that bike and ask around. Call a dealership and ask how much they'd pay for it. Get the maintainence records and find out what needs to be done (valve work, chain/sprockets that need to be replaced, clutch, etc.). It all adds up REAL quick.
