Concise form is in the topic!

I've done a quick search and can't find any up-to-date information on quite how good mixed-vendor SLI support is these days. I'm having trouble finding a matching card and may have to buy a different model - how likely is it to work?

Also, is it just me, or is the 7800GT being phased out rather quickly? How long do you think I've got to locate a second card before the channel is empty?

7800GT is on its way out, you are better off buying a 7900GT for similar price...

Mixed vendors will work, they can have different clockspeeds but one will be downclocked to match the other... so dont buy overclocked card if the other will be basicly stock

also make sure they have equal ram, as its just better that way (should serve u no trouble when using 7800/7900GT's

do you already have a 7800GT? WOOOPS saw ur topic name

you might be able to grab one off all the people who are going to 7900GT's right away and selling their 7800GT's

Sell the GT on Ebay and and get a 7900GT.

You will get a decent value for it and the difference is worth.

A second 7800GT will cost almost the same as a second 7900GT. And the difference is SLI (plus o/c) is even bigger.
