Ok, I've been out working on two of my major projects that I've just been too lazy to finish and I've beome ever so slightly inspired to do a little personal water cooling. I've done it for customers before but, that was typically for silence not for overclocking as I'm doing and i just generally threw together a swiftech/dangerden set-up and called it a day. Thats not good enough for my own project. If I go ahead I'll be installing it in a HUGE old full tower case. I've got a DFI LP UT NF4 Ultra, A64 3700+ san diego running at 1.5v at 3ghz. Due to budger constraints I'll only be cooling the CPU for now and I'll add seperate loops for the motherboard and GPU later. I'm thinking of an alphacool nexxos hp a DD TDX or a swiftech apogee GT cpu block. Leaning towards the alphacool for budget reasons but the apogee for performance reasons. For pump I was thinking of the DD CPX1 or the Swiftech MCP355. I know the PA120's are the top dog but they are toooo expensive so I'm 100% open to suggestions on the radiator so long as it's a dual 120mm as thats what I've made room for. For resevior I'll probably go with a typhon small 120X or, if budget demands a swiftech micro res. the DD I can go 1/2" on but the MCP355 is natively 3/8". I would like a DC pump and I really like the DD's ability to connect to a fan header for easy speed control. So, advice?

Hello, I would not recommmend combining lowbudget and watercooling. The dangerden things you listed there are mostly inferior to things equally priced (or at least close). For a radiator I'd recommend a swiftech MCR220 QP. There is even a version with an integrated reservoir. If you would use the radiator vertically (ie: using it with a radbox) it would work perfectly as reservoir replacement. For pump I'd say get a D5 (swiftech mcp665). It's also 1/2" native. There's a version with speed control but, I have it myself and always have it on setting 4 out of 5 (which is the default on the model without speed control, so I didn't even need it) Combined with a Petra's gel stuff (http://petrastechshop.com/pegviabbl.html) it's inaudible with some lowspeed fans on.

As for the waterblock I'm not entirely sure. The new EK Supreme isn't expensive and I think it's a good performer (haven't seen too many solid tests) so not quite sure. The apogee GT will work but I have the feeling there's more for your money. So maybe some more experienced watercoolers could shed some light on the current cpu block situation (kinda stopped looking after I got a swiftech apogee GTX with copper top.)

Radiator: Swiftech QP Series, aka MCR series. There Cheap, low restriction, and does the job. Also dual pass, not something seen unless you get into the HWLabs GTX or PA series.

CPU BLOCK: need more info here bro... you plan on upgrading the system to a quad? or you plan on staying on a dual until neha? The TDX came out with a new block, and people are already trying to tweek it with accelerators. However, i think a D-tek Fusion might look good in your future right now with nozzles. Use the nozzles for a cpu loop only, and if you neeed to add a gpu take the nozzles off.

Pump: there only 1 pump that matches your need. DDC-3.2 aka swiftech MCP355. Make sure you buy an OCLabs top at sidewinders, or a petratop at petrastechshop.com

res: EK-Xres, if your using the DDC-3.2 it is a all i 1 unit for your pump/res. Or Microres is what i love the most. Cheap and really efficient.
