Considerable difference? PC100 + PC133

Looking at how prices have dropped like crazy for Pc-133 RAM, I'm curious to know what the difference is between Pc-100 and Pc-133. If any of you can tell me what the benefits are of Pc-133 RAM, I would greatly appreciate it.

I'm also stuck at 650 @1.70v, and I want to see if I can push my Athlon any further from a 550 😉.

Thanks for your input ... and I apologize if the answer to my question isn't blatantly obvious to me 😀.

Performance increase of about 15% if you're using PC133 CAS2. It varies. But personally, i can feel the difference between them.

Bump up your voltage to 1.9V max. It should get your quite something. How's your temp?

I have no problems with temperature at all. I just can't get this darn thing past 650MHz. I tried 700 @1.80v, and Windows did not boot all the way. So I'm thinking that maybe it's the RAM I need to look at. Should I go ahead and try 700 @1.90v?

Are there any other things I need to look at in my system? Maybe that's as far as I can O/C this baby 🙁.

Here's my setup:

Athlon 550MHz
128 MB Kingston PC-100 SDRAM
(2) 30GB Maxtor 7200 HD's
Microstar-6167 Motherboard
Guillemot Geforce 256 SDR (32MB)
Creative X-Gamer Sound Card
Antec 300W P/S
19inch Viewsonic Monitor (black)
Klipsch ProMedia's
Black Hydraulic Midtower Case

I just want my all-black system to have a little more oomph ... is that so much to ask 😀?

Nothing to do with your ram most probably. It's your cache. You've to change the divider so it's running at a slower speed.
