I find this article hilarious because the purpose is transparent. They are attempting to soften the ground to take back the moral high ground once Trump is gone. Must have a sense its going to happen sooner then later.

The real question should be Do Republicans accept the new standards of morality for POTUS? Would love to see this broken down between GOP evangelicals and non-evangelicals.

Because everyone knows that what you find acceptable isn't as important as what you say you find acceptable.

Reminds me of this joke What did the daughter say to her father at the trailer park? Get off of me, you're crushing my cigarettes.

Pornography has nothing to do with morality. Sexual attitudes? Yes. Morality? No.

I really hope that increasing fundamentalist moralism isn't the approach Republicans have for trying to heal from Trump.

Yup just like the violence at rally’s it was all violent liberals.
Makes sense liberals/progressives are generally bad at protecting their reputations. I know I’d go against it too if you know there won’t be an effective response.

So, it's ok to have extra-marital sex with a porn star, but you'll be damned if you watch porn?

No it’s ok to be a flawed person but it’s not ok to be a continually flawed person.
Basically past actions vs present actions.

*im not a fundamentalist just trying to explain what I’ve heard*

93% of Republicans accept the violating of 7 or 8 of the 10 commandments by supporting this president.

And child fucking. They support that too.

So Dems/liberals are more honest and open about their feelings and opinion of things moral while conservatives are disingenuous and suppressed about it thus manifesting itself with declarations like "the immoral godless heathen that liberals are separates them from us and raises us above them".

With millions of conservatives religiously supporting Trump in all of his disgusting self-righteous glory, they have cornered themselves and slapped bumper stickers on their foreheads that read "I Am A Sanctimonious Pretender. So What?".

It’s strange, I’d guess the majority of Religeous leaders did not or would not vote
For Trump just over his immigration stance alone.
Really weird world right now.

No. It's okay to be a flawed person as long as you aren't a filthy liberal. Because filthy liberals are trying to destroy America.

In case anyone forgot, Nixon commissioned a report on pornography and when a metric butt ton of doctors said it had no detrimental effect, he ignored the report and went on a crusade anyways.

Good one. I'm thinking those morally bankrupt religious leaders that made a deal with the devil when they prosthelytized conservative political propaganda from their pulpits endorsing Trump as their champion must be asking for forgiveness every minute of the day with the thought in mind that they are surely going to that Dark Place if they don't wash themselves clean of the Trump infected slime that they poured over themselves and slaked down wholeheartedly.

And yet the religious conservatives spend so much on porn.

https://abcnews.go.com/Technology/Business/story?id=6977202&page=1

However, there are some trends to be seen in the data. Those states that do consume the most porn tend to be more conservative and religious than states with lower levels of consumption, the study finds.

"Some of the people who are most outraged turn out to be consumers of the very things they claimed to be outraged by," Edelman says.

The bolded... just shocking I tell ya.

That quote....above

"Some of the people who are most outraged turn out to be consumers of the very things they claimed to be outraged by," Edelman says.

It is not as simple as hypocrisy as people would think. Moonbeam I think talked about this on the forum...

Seems to me the greater the crime of complicity becomes the greater the need will be for them to want to deflect their ever more difficult to disguise self contempt on somebody else. I should think it will become tremendously urgent for them to turn to open violence. They are already supporting taking children from their mothers and putting them in cages. Life feeling like a swine can become quite difficult to handle. You never know when in polite company you might break out with an oink oink.
