Watching radical conservative candidates for the presidency call each other greedy pigs is like watching the 3 Stooges call each other stupid. But this is real life and if it weren't so sad and indicative of how dysfunctional American politics have become it would be funny. A new ABC/Washington Post poll shows why the sudden concern with greed: 60% of the country now supports government policies to correct income inequality, while 1/3 of OWS supporters are now Tea Party supporters and vice versa.

This is the best evidence yet that OWS is having a major impact in the political debate. Love em or hate em there's no denying the sudden and dramatic change in the political landscape since they arrived on the scene just last September and there's no denying they couldn't represent a more diverse group of Americans. When even the radical left and right can find common ground and begin attacking the same problem from two sides its a sign there are quite possibly big changes in the wind.

I suspect that rumors of any alliance, or indeed much common ground, between OWS and the Tea Party are, as Mark Twain would say, greatly exaggerated.

As for OWS and the Tea Party, I'm sure Mark Twain would also agree that opinions are like assholes, everyone has one.

OWS is merely a protest movement. They don't have an agenda other then changing the focus of the political debate. If a large number of Tea Party members support them protesting greed, corruption, and injustice I'm sure its only to promote their own political agendas.

The OSW and Tea Party movements don't mesh, but peripheral elements definitely do have some common bonds. Their personality and character are often extremes yet their is a generalized neo-isolationism, economic and militarily, that comes from both right and left.

They certainly won't be joining hands anytime soon, or ever really, but the isolationist aspect of each side is similar.

The Tea Party isn't a movement. Its a political party started by billionaires and likely to remain a political party for the indefinite future. I'd no more call it a "movement" then I would the republican or democratic parties.
