We should build a giant wall around the midwest and south and institute border controls to keep stupid people contained in their "zone". They are irrelevant to the economy at large and we can use them as a cheap labor source for doing things they can do (like castrate pigs). Why we even have "farmers" anymore when every single thing they do can be done by a robotic tractor and a wifi router, I will never know. If anybody is on "welfare" in this country, it's all the shitty conservative states that constantly run budget deficits and complain about the aid programs they exploit to prevent their uneducated and uninspired consituents from starving out of their own incompetence.

We will call it "Special America". They won't realize we are making fun of them and will think we think they're special.

I don't understand why, maybe it's all the fracking and water pollution, but there is some kind of brain damage going on in indiana to elect this woman and her ilk.

With virtually every post you prove to us how special you are.

Ya he does. Remember, he claims there are only 2 states in this country that have anything economically to offer.

You lack understanding and therefore compassion. Conservatives aren't the way they are because they chose to be, they had to be the way they are because they had to be that way to survive. They are conformists, wedded to an altered reality and they were forced as children to be that way. The other was despised and they had to become bigots to survive among other bigots. This is an ability that helped humanity survive when we were many competing tribes and others were a threat. This is still true in many places. Liberal thinking came late when we collected into larger groups. Liberal is suited to cities and the world of the future, but conservatives are more able to react to sudden dangers. You are spitting on people who have superior abilities to you in some areas. And your inability to see this makes you just like them, a reactionary, well let's just say jerk, as in knee jerk.
Pretty much this.

Classic conservatism (which has been replaced by radical reactionism) plays a role in governance. When conservatives were interested in making sure that libruuls didn't go and break things in an effort to make everything perfect ASAP, their view points and votes were useful. They still can be, actually.

There is nothing wrong with saying, "hold on a minute, let's make sure we're not going to make stuff worse".

It's just that it's morphed into a "libruuuls are going to destroy Amurica if anything changes!" mode. The sky is constantly falling for "conservatives" today, and so one side has given up tempering the other, and instead labels everything the other side holds as an ideal as "un-American". "Obama done did stole my country, and I want it back". Right, let me guess, he didn't get more votes, and even if he did, they were all from moochers, or (non-existent) voter fraud. Yup. Sure thing!

The average Democratic politician would fit in rather nicely in every other "western" country's conservative party, and yet you still have radical reactionaries calling them "commies". As if 98% of all elected Democrats aren't proponents of neo-liberalism with a slightly higher tax rate.

Oh noes, 40% top marginal rate! 28% Capital gains rate! That will destroy Amurica!*

*Please ignore the 1940s-1980s and the tax rates. We don't need you thinking critically.

She's from iOwa, not Indiana.
Apparently really smart people know it's the same place.

Ya he does. Remember, he claims there are only 2 states in this country that have anything economically to offer.
I'm guessing those are Intoxication and Inebriation?

I had an uncle by marriage who made damned good money not growing corn. He too bought more land and didn't grow even more corn. He did so well not growing corn that he sold off his dairy cattle and equipment to not grow corn full time. However, he got up quite early and walked his borders, presumably to make sure no one had snuck in and planted corn. Apparently that's a thing. Later he apparently perfected his method for not growing corn as he ran for and was elected County Court Clerk, yet he managed to continue not growing just as much corn. Truly the Greatest Generation.

That was on the Carter program. It's nice to learn that even after electing so many Republicans against paying people to not grow things and Democrats against farm subsidies, we haven't lost our core value of paying people to not grow corn.
