Is Fatbaugh next? How about Elisabeth Hasselbeck? How many right-wing armchair tough-guys (and gals) are going to continue inventing new definitions for what is clearly torture by anyone who has experienced it?

At least Mancow was honest enough to eat his own words.

"It is way worse than I thought it would be, and that's no joke," Mancow told listeners. "It is such an odd feeling to have water poured down your nose with your head back...It was instantaneous...and I don't want to say this: absolutely torture."

"Absolutely. I mean that's drowning," he added later. "It is the feeling of drowning."

"If I knew it was gonna be this bad, I would not have done it," he said.

More journalists have experienced it than Islamic Terrorists. We don?t use it often, does the target matter at all to you?

Isn't that ironic??

We gave it up years ago and only used it on 3 people. Let it go already.

6 seconds? Wow
And that's with someone he has some bit of trust in, was able to ask questions, and wasn't strapped down to some board.

I'm not really understanding the point of this: Are people really still debating whether waterboarding is torture or not????

It is.

The debate is not if it's torture. The debate is whether it should be used, in a private, controlled, approved at Leadership level, setting, on specific detainees who are known or strongly suspected of having true valuable intelligence - and are not cooperating in a time fashion (as they likely won't, and as "timely" is defined by those approving).

In light of that, this means absoFinglutely nothing.

Chuck

P.S. I guess "Mancow" will now be scarred for life, won't be able to take showers, will piss himself when it thunders out, etc. Obviously if hardened committed are so scarred by the waterboarding they received, just think how pussboy Mancow will be. Poor F'er....

No, some folks still proclaim that it isn't torture...

It's a sad day when a "Mancow" has more balls than a Hannity.....

We don't rape detainees' chldren to death in froont of them very often. Only for three detainees. Let it go already.

No. It should never be done. We should strengthen our laws against it, and resume prosecution of anyone who does it to our people.

Our righties still don't get it. They still think it's 'ok' if you really want info. If they had their way, there would have been no outcry againt it, and it'd be ok to use more widely.

He should be proud for his honesty, you should be ashamed. I have to give credit to the righties who have done it so far and said things against their side's dogma,

The really funny thing is, it doesn't look like they even waterboarded him correctly... i notice that his feet are elevated by his upper body isn't really up on an incline. It's even worse when you're on an incline.

It' should be required that conservative morons who publicly declare that waterboarding isn't torture be waterboarded themselves. I think we could put this debate to rest if we did.

Still waiting on Hannity (who remains silent on his offer to be waterboarded)

edit: his hands weren't even tied either.

Good points - I didn't watch it, but the incline is important, and the hands should be tied.

Christopher Hitchens actually had false memories it was so traumatic, when done 'right'.

To be clear, IMO no one can 'last' at this. Drowning is drowning.

That's why its main use reportedly is for obtaining false confessions.

While people can't 'last' at it, what they say as a result of it is the question. We know it's gotten a lot of false info.

It's terrible that it was used on a detainee not for obtainiing 'info to save lives' - as wrong as that would already be - but for obtaining a false confession of an Al Queda-Saddam relationship for political CYA for the Bush administration, since they had lied about it and wanted evidence to try to cover that up. They tortured to get a lie, not the truth.

That we know of. Two years ago,we were told it was zero.

And torture encompasses more then just waterboarding, but you just choose to ignore that. We have totrtured many more then just three people.

Wow, if you believe that, you are pathetic. If it's torture, like you said, it's illegal. Full stop. Can't be used. 100% illegal.

There is no debate.

We'll let it go when Bush, Cheney, and their gang of war criminals are in prison.

This thread delivers! The only thing missing is gratuitous sex. What?

Nevermind.

We have seen the best of the republican boobs here.
