Thread where I will post latest Conservative Authoratarian events and issues.

It is the Ultimate in "Do as I say not Do as I do" mentality of these people.

Here is the latest on the Conservatives Extremeist view that the female body is Evil and you cannot look at it:

4-6-2005 Idaho Police Raid Club Over Nude 'Art Night'

BOISE, Idaho - An Idaho strip club that attempted to get around a ban on full nudity by giving patrons sketch pads for special "art nights" was cited for violating the city's nudity rules, officials said on Tuesday.

Boise allows full nudity for "serious artistic" expression only, so the club handed out pencils and sketch pads to patrons so they could sketch naked women.

A police spokeswoman said officials concluded, however, that patrons were not focused on art, so officers cited three dancers for violations of the city nudity ordinance. "The case is being reviewed by the Boise city attorney for the possibility of future citations," said spokeswoman Lynn Hightower.

Erotic City owner Chris Teague called the citations a violation of the civil rights of the dancers, as well as an "insult to the patrons." But the club would suspend 'art night' until the matter was settled in court.

I guess that doesn't apply to those who already hold office or have been appointed to the Bench.

That's correct in fact.

Check out Alabama's Law which was upheld by the USSC.

Law Enforcement, Judges and Politicians are specifically exempt from the Dildo Law.

Funny, but I don't recall any anti-nudity issues being the sole domain of the right-wing establishment. Such a battle has been waged in Central Florida for a couple of decades now and the lefty and righty politicians both joined together to get those laws enacted.

Maybe the lefties were just pandering to the masses for re-election, eh?

Yes and it didn't work.

Florida is clearly 100% a Red State only now.

Texas has the same kind of thing. Selling "life-like" toys are prohibited, and owning more than some arbitrary number indicates an "intent to distribute."

That's why every "fun" shop have weird dildos in the shape of cats, egyptian pharaohs, etc.

It's so stupid, and just another example of the "nanny government" telling consenting adults what they can and can't do with their bodies/lives, based on some "moral" reasoning. *sigh*

Well Orlando was blue until recently when the mayor got caught buying votes and was removed from office. In fact, Orlando has been consistently blue over the years and they've continued to clamp down on the gentlemen's clubs over that same time, so your theory about this being right wing is a bit whack, dude.

You don't seem to have a problem with leftwingers blocking Walmarts in their town, but you are upset about conservatives not allowing strip clubs in their municapalities. Interesting priorities you have there.

Its not even that they don't allow strip clubs. Its a case of your not allowed to be fully nude. Topless is still fine. Idaho is far from the only place that is tops off only.

This strip club obviously tried to bypass that law by saying it was art night. I'm sure the dancers were acting like art subjects too, sitting on bar stools in a pose. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing wrong with strip clubs.

Agruements on whether or not there should be a law preventing full nudity is one thing, but this was a blantant attempt to try to sidestep the law. And as a result they should be fined. Although I hate to blame the dancers, as it was most likely the ownerships fault.

Sex Toy Sale Still Criminal in Alabama

Actually (and fortunately, so far), this wasn't upheld by the USSC, just by a US Circuit Court.

Edit: Oops, I was wrong about my first statement. I just saw that the USSC refused to review the Circuit Court's decision.

But let me get this straight:

If if get a real, live, female orifice, attached to a real, live consenting woman, in my little hovel, I can make use if said orifice with no fear from the state of Alabamba.

But if I get a fake, plastic version of the orifice, I can be arrested.

Presumably, plastic corrupts.

In the state of Alabamba, can a person be busted for illicit use of a cucumber?

No. Only the sale of sex toys is illegal in Alabama. Possession is not illegal.

No. Only the sale of sex toys is illegal in Alabama. Possession is not illegal.

Once again demonstrating your incomparable ability to miscomprehend. From Judge Bartlett's dissent:

"Alabama's law not only restricts the sale of certain sexual devices, but, like the statute in Lawrence, burdens private adult sexual activity within the home."

Now, if you want to argue that possessing but not USING sex toys is okay in Alabamba, feel free. I don't know about you, but a plastic orifice is a terrible thing to waste.

From the previous link:

Fortunately for Alabamians, only the sale of sex toys is prohibited; possession is not a crime. This could mean an sex toy economic boom for Florida (sex toy sales are illegal in Mississippi, Georgia and Tennessee).

There's nothing wrong with restricting certain things in a strip club. The Supreme Court has already said it is constitutional. (The judgment was over a decade ago)

Dave McCowen wants to send his future daughter to work in a strip club. That way he can retire, and live as her pimp daddy.
