Consequences of drinking and driving. WARNING: Grotesque Images

I think we should ban all drinking! then we can focus on reckless driving rather then drinking contributing to every accident! drinking is an addiction, once you start you can't stop. Who is it to blame? It is very hard to stop anyone from drinking when they are an alcoholic, this is where the problem lies... I could never drink, it taste horrible and leaves a bad taste in my mouth 🙁
All this whining does you no good because if you can't get people to stop drinking, what's the point? my dad is a heavy drinker, and has serious health problem and don't really care if he get killed on the road. He had a accident an year ago that almost killed him due to drinking and he doesn't know it until I pointed out to him but still doesn't care! because as long as he has his beer, is all that matter to him.
Anyway, i got him to drink less but not stop completely so just let them be, who cares? waste of my time 🙁

How much did he have to drink? If he only had a couple beers, I find it hard to blame it on the alcohol only.

Nonetheless, I feel sorry for that poor girl. Perhaps it would have been better had she died.. at least if I was her, that's the way I would have wanted it.

Not everyone who drinks drives and not everyone who drinks and drives is an alcoholic, but over 40% of all car related deaths involve the prior consumption of alcohol. The big problem isn't the alcoholics, its the dumb@sses that go and get plastered hanging out with the guys and think their "okay" enough to drive back home without being caught.

you should report his ass. who cares if he dies, no big loss but when he rams his car into a family van.. then you will share the blame partially for not doing anything

I have no problem stopping after one or two beers.

It is the drinker who is to blame for drinking to intoxication, and it is the driver to blame for driving while intoxicated.

The problem lies in people making poor decisions, and those who make the poor decisions are the ones who are responsible for those decisions and the consequences of those decisions.

Drinking isn't the issue here; it's drinking and then driving while intoxicated. Quite a few responsible people DO make the decision not to drive when they're intoxicated. Many people make this decision every day.

I'm impressed by the spirit I see in that girl's eyes. That's real beauty, and not even the selfish stupidity of others can take that away from her.

The biggest problem is that alcohol impaires your judegment, and you think you are ok to drive after you have had a few. Like I said at this point you are impaired, and making a decision that you wouldn't have had you been sober. I work in a niteclub and I see this all the time, people who know better making a poor decision because a) they are impaired and b)they don't want to strand their car downtown and worry about getting it by 8 a.m. so they don't get towed.

I think the only way to get the casual d.u.i. people off the road is for every city to have a designated driver program where they will drive you home in your car. As for the chronic alcoholic's, that is something that is just very hard to prevent.

Yup. Basically, they can't make a good judgement call after drinking. That's why it's important that you prevent this from the beginning by just not letting them have their car by them, or by assigning a DD.

I just got this email forward today. Sad Stuff.

What's in the pictures? I no longer click on these things after seeing someone who's head was blown half off with a shotgun and a guy who was half eaten by a bear.

I don't blame you.

Umm, this might be propanda--I have to check a magazine at home to be sure...

I couldn't find it on Snopes, but I swear my sister has a magazine that has this girl's story in it. Same exact photos on the website are in this magazine, but what happened to the girl in the magazine (also from South America) was not caused by drunk driving!

This Venezuelan girl won a beauty pageant and started dating the runner-up's boyfriend. The girl who lost was so bitter at losing the contest and her man that she confronted this girl with some friends and PROCEEDED TO DUMP ACID ALL OVER HER BODY. Total body disfigurement ensued...and doctors had to fight to save her life. This girl told all in Seventeen magazine, and talked about what its like to go from a pageant winner and potential Miss World contestant to not being able to look at yourself in the mirror anymore...really touching.

An acquaintance of mine was burned over a very large portion of his body also. (and also in a drunken driving accident, although I believe he was the one driving drunk). He barely survived and has had quite a few surgeries since then.... looks horrible. But, his attitude and personality make up for what he looks like. He also married a wonderful wife after the accident. I'd certainly want to live through an accident. I admire that girl for having the personality to go through the hell that she is.
