My point of view is it depends.. on what you are buying and your intended use.

For example I have a Dell U2711 that I use with my work box. I also game on my workbox some days. For work and general things I love the U27 because of the room I have to work with.

For gaming... my eyes get tired.. I get headaches.

I use a smaller 120Hz Monitor for gaming and personally love it. I don't miss the size at all while gaming.

I wouldn't want to use the smaller monitor while working tho... which is why I say it depends (in my opinion). The only other possible con would be if you had a very small space for it... because a 27 inch monitor .. or at least my Dell is well... quite large.

I for one can't really stand 27" monitors. They're just too big at a typical viewing distance.

For those of you that use a 27" or 30", do you move the monitor further away than when you had smaller screens? About how far away do you put the 27" and bigger screens? I'm about just over 2 feet away from my current screen, but it's a 24" 1920x1200.
