Conroe Test Update

They updated the BIOS and changed a couple of settings. Realized some gains for Conroe and some for the Athlon.

Maybe this will put the fanboy chatter down a little.

Probably to simulate the likely competition when Conroe is released.

They overlocked the AMD procesor?...WHY?!

And yeah conroe is looking to be reallly nice. If for some reason I get a PC this summer (though I'm looking to extend the life of my 2200+ another three years) I would get Intel for the first time ever...

But I guess I'll see what things look like three years from now

Presumably to show that the Conroe chip will be competitive with 'future' AMD CPU offerings that will be at or above the speed of the OCed FX-60.

Their stock speeds are close. Finally Intel is getting more done per clock cycle. Imagine if that chip scales to >5GHz. :Q

EDIT: That said, they should have o/c the conroe to 3 GHz.

I wonder if one would call an underclocked conroe a conrad? :laugh:
