I am putting together the rig that I have wanted for a long time with what will have everything I need and want. Listed Below:
Motherboard
Videocard
HD x 2
RAM

Processor= C2D 6600

My questions at this point are many and I have been to numerous sites that either differ in the information or no information at all. So my questions of all of you are these.

1.) NVIDIA states on thier website that the 7950GX2 is compatible with the intel "BadAxe" motherboard. I found people that are having issues with this setup. Anyone have personal experience and can confirm that this works? Also, how about DS3, P5B is it just going to take a BIOS update to get this card to work with those MB (Ive heard it both ways)?

2.) Conroe I know is compatible with this motherboard if it is the correct revision. I have noticed other users talk about getting the motherboard from newegg and have to flash the BIOS to the new revision. Can anyone confirm that the boards shipping from newegg have the old revision? Also, if you do get one that is the old revision and have to flash the bios you have to have a processor to plug in... Does that stick me with buying a cheap celeron just to flash the BIOS (Like I think it does)?

3.) At this point I am leaning towards waiting for a few weeks and see how others Conroe rigs piece together before making the leap on this. Opinions there?

This is my first post so take it easy on me :)

thanks all

As for Question #3: That might be a good idea because at least you will see what really works and what doesn't. Also you will be able to buy a Conroe when the prices stabilize (and maybe even fall slightly)...;)

Yeah I wouldn't recommend buying a Conroe when quantity is low and demand is high. Unless you pre-order you are likely to get reamed on the price.
