I was comparing an AM2 3800 x2 overclocked to 2.8ghz stock vcore (notice stock vcore), All of that for less than $300. Your beloved conroe cant reach it.
Oh I hear another delay on con-roe, because Intel cant produce them ES cherry picked, hand crafted processors been giving to their ass kissers, and is quagmire what to do w/ it. I get a big laugh when I hear them announce that they concede to AM2's just as they have to IMC technology.
Go and do your spi 1m 24/7 while I am playing w/ my SLI AM2's without loosing my pants.
Oh have you heard? Nvedia says conroe is bottleneck so no SLI for you Intel.
heheh. Maybe ATI will make some vid card and calls it conroe's special. but wait, AMD is buying ATI-what a bummer.
EDIT: If you wanna P off Conroe lovers, just say the word "FSB"![]()
lol, what a riot.
for starters, a 2.8ghz am2 will get its ass beat by a conroe at 2.4ghz, in general, of course, but you're probably the type to run some glassjaw test and pat your back til your arm falls off. in any case, since you're claiming 3800@2.8, thats quite a stretch, we've been consistenly hitting 2.4ghz with 1.8ghz bin conroes in-house, and that costs like what, $150? and thats with passive cooling, and undervolted half the time. you can't touch this!
engineering samples, cherry-picked or not, *SUCK* compared to market silicon. A step runs are almost always crippled. you haven't seen jack from the "ass-kissers" with early ES benches... B0 is much more representative.
and what about the fsb? if "IMC technology" and load-to-use from memory were so decisively advantageous, intel would've just kept "IMC technology" from 386 onwards! duh!
