In 23 july we see Conroe Release but intel Conroe X6xxx Series is Single Core or Dual Core? if Single Core when we can see Dual Core Conroe?
finally X2 3800 AM2 @ 2600MHz or Conroe 6400 @ 3.0GHz? which is better for gaming and ...

They are releasing the Core 2 duo and the Core 2 Solo simultaneously.

The core 2 solo is actually a dual core conroe core with one core that failed validation. They simply disable the failed core and sell it as a Core 2 Solo.

This is kinda confusing because normally a dual core and single core chips have different names. Like the Socket 939 Athlon 64's having a San Diego/Venice Single Cores and Toledo/Denmark Dual Cores.

Where did you find this info, everything else is showing that the core 2 duo will be realased first, and single cores later on, that are actual single cores, not duals with a failed core..Millville = single core version of allendale, allendale = 2mb cache version of Conroe.

Sorry I checked and I was confusing some facts. One, I think the release date was blatantly wrong. Two the info using failed dual core chips for single core was on the core duo, not core 2 duo (seen below). I read somewhere else the Core 2 Solos will be done the same way as the Core Solo (using a failed single core failure on core 2 duo), but I have nothing to back that, so take it with a grain of salt I suppose.
