I need to buy a workstation for work. I haven't upgraded in a long time and haven't really been following the new Intel chips.
My question is.
I plan on buying a dell 390 workstation and have decided on the Core 2 duo E6600 for it. Dell has the option of both 533Mhz and 667Mhz memory. There will not be any overclocking on this system. The 667 is only $15 more then the 533 so I've about decided to just go with it anyway no matter what the bus speed. Would that cause any problem. I will be getting ECC memory for this system if that makes a difference.
What are the memory bus speeds on the new processors and specifically for the E6600?
Thanks in advance. I've read quite a few reviews and just have not been able to pin this down.
Yeah, I know basic questions but for this system stability is very important.
