Conroe E6300 idle temps

Just built my new Conroe box:

E6300
Antec P180B
Freezer 7 Pro (w/Arctic Silver 5, applied per directions on AS website)
Asus P5B

Not overclocking at this point. Wanted to see what temps I was getting through BIOS before I even installed the OS.

Hardware Monitor reports a CPU temp around 42-43C (mobo temp 37-38C) with case closed and fans on medium. Is this standard for this setup? Seems high to me.

Who cares about idle temperature? Throw some load at it to see figures that matter.

But if you really want to get opinions on your idle temps, you also need to provide your ambient temperature.
 
HSF was easy to install... place it on the CPU so fan will point towards rear of case, press diagonally opposite retaining clips, and that's it.

Ambient is probably around 22-23C.

I'll throw some load at it tonight after I install the OS.
