Right now my E6600 is running stable @ 3.0 GHz. If I try to take it much higher, I start running into stability issues caused by the mainboard (it doesn't seem to like FSB settings much above 350). This is with the Asus P5B, FSB is 334 MHz, RAM is running at DDR2-1000 @ CL4-4-4-15.

Haven't voted in the poll for CPU speed and FSB speed yet, want to see if there's anything I can do to get the board stable at high FSB's first, because the CPU definitely still has headroom for overclocking.

why don't u drop the divider to 1:1 and see if it lets you overclock higher.. that will make your RAM run at about DDR2-667

Yep, tried that (took the divider down to its minimum 1:1 setting). The problem is with the board itself, not the CPU or RAM. For example, the system is not stable at 360 FSB, even when a force the CPU multiplier to 6.0 (so 2.16 GHz) with a RAM divider of 1:1 (so DDR2-720)...the problem is that the board does not seem to like high FSB settings, and starts having problems around the 350 to 380 MHz range...which is something that other reviewers seem to be finding as well.

Any one try the Vcore mod yet? Yes, it's really only for us with the inexpensive ASRock 775Dual VSTA, but other Conroe users may want to push it higher. I would try it, but since I can't push the FSB beyond 304, I don't need to bump up the voltage any more yet.

Current config I have been folding@home for the past week on now:

Core 2 Duo E6300 1.86ghz @ 3.33ghz w/ Zalman CNPS7700-Cu
Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 Motherboard
2 x 1Gb Corsair DDR2-800 RAM @ 952mhz 5-5-5-15
ATI 7000 PCI Graphics Card
Antec NeoHE 550watt PSU / Antec P180-B Case

I have a linky in my sig to my 501FSB overclock, so far FSB and MCH voltages are at stock, CPU vcore was at 1.36v for the sig link, 1.356v for the above. Once my Scythe Ninja arrives and drops the heat down I'll see just what 1.4vcore can get me... :D

DS3 had the original F1 BIOS, but with my config everything worked on the first go out of the box. RAM only needs 1.9v stock so that was not an issue, currently running 2v. Active MCH/ICH8 cooling though...
