Connection sharing / Dropping Internet

Hey all. I'm having an odd problem. I have my main box with two integrated NICs. NIC #1 is connected to my broadband router downstairs. NIC #2 has a crossover cable to my linux box. I have XP's internet connection sharing on on the main box. The linux box, everything works great. The windows box, whenever NIC #2 is enabled, randomly won't connect to the web, nor will email work. Other programs, such as AIM, appear unaffected. I thought something was screwing with DNS resolution, but when it is 'down' I can't even ping an off-lan IP from the main box.

For clarity, the topography:

[Router: DNS, etc 192.168.10.1] ------[Main: ICS. 192.168.10.33 & 192.168.0.1]------[Linux: 192.168.0.2]

Any ideas?
