Connection sharing comes and goes

Everyday at about 5:00pm, connection sharing is lost to the client machine. Also at this time, if the connection sharing machine is connected to the internet, the ability to access the network is lost. If the host machine is not connected to the internet, everything works fine. Both machines are running Windows 98SE and I am using WinGate 4.1 Home to share the connection. I have tried re-installing Windows and un-installing and re-installing WinGate 4.1 Home several times. I'm not sure when the connection sharing is restored for sure but every morning when I turn the machines on everything works fine. I have two machines connected
by a 10mbps Diamond HomeFree network system that uses my home phone lines.
