Connection randomly disconnects

Hey guys, my connection randomly disconnects from time to time. I have raod runner (cable) internet that goes to a router and have 3 computers and my xbox 360 connected to the router.

The router is a d-link. Is there a way to stop this form happening? I'll be playing a game of gears of war and it will disconnect me and it's REALLY anoying.

Thanks in advance.

When you get disconnected from the game, does the Internet stop working as well?

When it happens, does it only happen to the XBox or do all three computers also lose connection?

What do you do to restore the connection? Or does it just start working again on its own?

I agree that Fardringle is asking the right type of questions---but when I had a similar intermittently, I was finally able to trace it to a bad NIC on one computer, But when troubleshooting, sometimes you just have to keep replacing hardware until the problem is solved. And anything you can do to isolate the problem reduces the things you have to try.

So start by answering Fardingles questions which cost nothing.

It happens to all computers and xbox when it does, and it reconnects by itself. I get disconnected from the game because the internet disconnects.

Try the latest firmware. If that doesn't do the trick, it's the hardware limitation (of many entry-level routers).
