Connection or connections CD-ROM/Audio Card ?

I have a 56X CDROM and a SB Live! Audio card, the connections available between them are
- a 4 pins analog audio connection
- a 2 pins (CD SPDIF) Digital audio connection

Should I connect both ? Or just one ? In the second case which one ?

Neither are necessary.


Go into the Device Manager (Control panel, System, Device manager).

open the properties of the CD-Rom drive....check the "Enable digital CD audio for this CD-RoM device" option.

That's it. the system will pull data over the 40pin data cable......
