So i just recieved a ZyXEL G-202 Wireless Adaptor along with the ZyXEL Prestige 660HW-T1 wireless router i purchased and decided i should use the adaptor in my desktop PC upstairs. It connects to the internet fine most of the time, although some of the time it wont connect to the wireless network at all. The problem im having is, the connection drops, then re-connects every time in the middle of loading a webpage, or downloading anti-virus definitions etc. Basically every time it needs to transfer/recieve information to and from the router to allow me acess to the internet.
This problem is very annoying, as i either keep getting a "Connection was reset" page instead of an actual webpage, or the page loads after the connection has dropped about 3 times. Im not sure if this is a problem to do with the range of the wireless adaptor, however sometimes after hovering over the icon in the system tray it shows me having "Very good/Excellent" signal, and other times "Very poor/No signal". It seems to jump about alot of the time, so perhaps this is why it wont hold a connection for very long.
In case you want to know, i have a desktop downstairs connected directly to the router, a laptop with built in wireless which works fine without disconnecting me every 2 seconds, and this desktop which i am currently using upstairs (the one with the problem).
Thanks for any help you can offer, i just spent about 20 minutes writing this out, so i hope its helpful to you.
