Connecting XP Home computer to NT4 Domain

Some people tell me it isn't possible, others say it can be done, but I've yet to find any documentation on it. Can somebody please help me out here? It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
 
You cannot join a domain. You can, however, set up a local user on the home machine with the same username and password as the domain account. This will allow you to assign permissions, etc to fileshares.
