Connecting wired Desktop to Wireless Laptop

Like the topic says. I have a wired desktop and a wireless laptop. Both computers connect to a NetGear Wireless Router. Both can browse the internet but they cannot file share. When I connect the laptop via an ethernet cable, the two PCs can file share.

As well as specific adjustment of each computer according to what it is allowed to be shared.
