Connecting Wifi Router with Ubuntu

Hello All.

I have problem with connecting my Ubuntu 6.10 with Wifi Linksys Security enable router. On providing the correct information in Administator -> Network for Wifi device.

I have my SID as linksys (As show in windows) entered as ESID in Ubuntu and using correct password (Using Text Option not Hexadecimal). I am unable to see any connectivity.

I have another dlink (SID name) unsecured network in my home range to which I am able to connect without any problem.

Can some one please point out what I am missing to connect to my linksys device.

My linksys is WRT54G something as far as I know.

What encryption method are you using? (WPA?)

I would start by changing to a unique SSID. There is a guide on setting up WPA support with the NetworkManager on the ubuntu forums if you search for it. Works great on all my machines.
