Connecting to Fedora with VNC

For some reason I can only connect to my Fedora 8 box via VNC if I have already logged in (entered my password).

The service should be started already though, shouldn't it? What am I doing wrong?

VNC is generally started under a user account so you're probably not connecting to a normal VNC server but to whatever Gnome has that allows you to remote control the default desktop via VNC.

I ended up doing auto login on my fedora box, this solved the problem.
