I have a Nokia IP330 that i'm attempting to reset to factory default, yet nothing comes through the Hyper-terminal. I've connected them using a serial female DB9 to female DB9 (same as this one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/320993934459?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 ). Opened the hyper-terminal, and set the bit per second to 9600. When i switch on the machine, nothing happens. Just a flashing cursor at the top left of the hyper-terminal.

Any ideas?

Going to try again today by re-seating my serial port card, then going through everything again. I used exactly the same setting as in the pdf, and i'm sure the cable i posted the link too is a null modem. Can you confirm this?

What is 'putty' ??

Is there a link?

Thanks for the input :)

The PDF doesn't mention flow control, start with flow control disabled (part of the port config like baud, stop bit, etc...

if disabled doesn't get you anywhere, try the other flow control settings one at a time

If you have another console device to test your terminal config on, try it out too...

I've can have connected to the machine, but the only thing that
displays is 'AT' recurring every 10 seconds or so.
There is no cursor to type or any boot / loading messages, just 'AT' ???
