connecting the fans , help

hi you all

well i just purchased my two 3"x3" (80mmx80mm) fans for my case, but when i were to set them i realized that my mainboard connectors for the fans have three pins and my fans only have two black and red.

How do i do to set them?
my fans are 12vDC the mainboard connectors how much voltage suplies for a fan?

You could do a number of things to power them. It takes 12v, so you would connect the red to a yellow wire on the molex connector and the black to the black. Or, you could connect them to a microbus or fanbus.

Dont plug those into your mobo. Get some male molex connectors and hook your fans up to them. When plugged into the PS, you will want to have the positive wire from the fan plugged into the yellow wire and negative into any of the 2 black wires. That will give them 12V (full power). If you want to run them at 7V, just put the negative wire on the red wire. To connect the wires to the male molex connectors, solder the wires to the pins and then slide the pins into the plastic housing. That's it.

ok so there are new questions...

i only have one connector available in the power supply , can i connect both fans to the single connector at 12v?

...and does the mainboard connectors supplies 12v to the fans too ?

The mainboard 3-pin connectors do supply 12V along with RPM monitoring, but I would not use them for case fans.

Yes, you can hook up an almost unlimited number of fans to your PS via one molex connector.
