Can i connect my existing hub to a switch?...i'm buying a netgear cable router with a switch option...i also have a 4port hub and want to connect that to the built in 4port switch, will this work?
Yes, but use the uplink port on the hub to connect to your switch/router. If there is no uplink port on your hub, I believe you can connect the 2 with a crossover cable.
Yes this will work exactly as Shmorq described. Keep in mind you will have better network performance between two ports on the switch as compared to two ports on the hub. But it won't be that big of a difference.
