Connecting Router to switch to computers

So yesterday we moved a computer and unplugged/replugged some cables in the process, and now our labs network is no longer working (some people got mad because our router was apparently sending ip adresses to the entire building). So I've been given the job of getting it up and running properly. I know very little about this stuff, but here is how I tried connecting it last. Ethernet into a D-link wireless router into the WAN. From port 1 (4 port router) into the uplink on a linksys switch. Then all the computers are connected through the switch. The only problem is that none of the computers work. If I connect a computer straight to the router, then it works, but nothing throught the switch. I believe all the cables are straight cat5 cables. Let me know if this setup is just completely incorrect or if there's something else I can try.

It sounds like you somehow setup a rogue dhcp. Try hooking up into a port instead of the uplink on the switch.

I don't know about DLINK but when Linksys when you connect a router to a switch's uplink port, the port directly next to it is no longer useable. Perhaps that is why you can't get it to work. If DLINK is not like this then disregard.

EDIT: Yes, I see you have a Linksys switch. Make sure the port right next to the uplink is free otherwise your other connections will not work.

Thanks for the thoughts. It turned out we just needed to shut down all the computers and unplug the switch, then start everything from scratch. I should have thought of that sooner. Anyways, thanks again.
