Connecting PC To a Laptop ?

Hi ,

I have a DVI port on my Laptop which i can connect an external monitor to and use the monitor instead on the Laptop LCD .

But what i wanted to know is - Can i connect my PC using a DVI Cable from the PC to the laptop and use the Laptop LCD Screen , for when im repairing and doing maintainence to my pc .

Mainly because theres not much room where the PC is situated , and to unplug eveything and move it somewhere else would be a whole lot of hassel . :frown:

It would be much easier to just unplug the box and connect it to Laptop . 🙂

So you want to do this:

PC -> Laptop -> LCD ?

It doesn't work like that.

You can always get a KVM switch so you could alternate the use of the monitor between the PC and the laptop.

Yeah i have a kvm switch , i knew i could plug a monitor into my laptop to use instead of the LCD i just wanted to know if i could reverse that .

Oh we'll looks like everything gets moved to a bigger workspace , i need to replace 2 SATA drives and replace all the power and SATA Cables .

I like everything as neat a possible so i need plenty of space to work 😉

I think he wants to do this

PC -> Laptop LCD, which may have been what you were saying.

Anyway.... there is an app for OS X called Screenrecycler that will let you do what you are talking about. It (for example) would let me hook my MacBook up to my friend's MacBook Pro and use his screen as an extra screen on my machine. You might want to see if you can do something like that for Windows.
