Connecting Notebook to a Desktop computer

Instead of using a computer screen to read contents of my Windows 98 desktop machine, is it possible to connect/hook my Windows XP Notebook to serve as a screen to my Win98? That way, I wouldn't need to invest a computer monitor. Thanks in advance.

Not the way that you want to, which is connect a cable from the desktop video card to a secret plug on the back of your laptop.

If your W98 box had TV-out and your laptop had TV-in you could use that, but picture quality wouldn't be great.

If it's just for routine, non-graphical intensive, use then VNC would work great; it just shoots the screen info across a network to any remote system.
