Connecting my Razr to my computer

I'm trying to connect my Razr to my computer and I'm wondering what software I need for it to recognize it. When i plug it in via usb the Found New Harware wizard comes up but i don't have anything to install for it, no discs or anything at least. I'm assuming I can get whatever software I need off from Motorola but I don't know what I need, so any help?
 
Drivers? Try googling RAZR drivers and RAZR software. I'm pretty sure you can get away with a 3rd party program and not have to use the crummy motorola phone tools app.
 
Wow I've been trying to get p2k to work for almost an hour and a half and i've got nothing to show for it. I found a site with this huge tutorial on it and nothing I do with it works. I cannot for the life of me get p2k to recognize my phone. It connects when i plug it in now because it starts charging but the program will not recognize my phone. Btw that link wouldn't get me to the p2k program.

Click on "free" icon.
wait for the link. (wait for the time count down)

Uninstall your MPT.
Use different USB port and try install again w/ the you just download.

What carrier do you have, and what are you trying to accomplish by connecting the RAZR to your PC?
 
First, P2KTools will only work with a GSM type of phone .... so if you have Sprint or Verizon (CDMA) phones
then you really need Motorola Mobile Phone Tools as that is the best for use with Motorola phones. Also
look at hacktherazr.com .. they have a lot of tips on how to make everything work the correct way .. Also see

That may explain my problem Bruceb, I have alltel which I believe is CDMA as well. Will those two sites have anything for CDMA?
 
Motorola Phone Tools is your best bet to connect to a CDMA Motorola Razr Phone
Unfortunately it is not a freeware program. However, if you get from a legitimate source,
then it can always get the updates to newer versions as they come out (if you want them)
