Hi boys and girls! This is my first post, so I will present myself.
My name is beloved patriot, and I am working for a belgium company in the wind energy industry.

We are looking for cameras to be installed in our offshore buoy in the north sea.
We need IP66 cameras (water resistant), but most of the cameras I have seen, are not webcams (they dont have a USB cable) so we need an additional recorder for our purpose. The other option is to buy a BCN-USB adapter, but in this case... Is it possible to control the cam via PC? just like a web cam? We just want to be able to remote control the cam, since the buoy is at sea and we are working in the office.

Thank you in advance!!!!

Most modern surveillance cameras are IP capable.
If the intent is just to view (no recording) as if it were a webcam, all you really need to do is connect it to your WAN network, and you should be able to access the camera via its IP address.

All major surveillance IP camera manufacturers (Axis, Sony, Samsung, Panasonic, Bosch, etc.) should have many IP66 rated models. Price for a proper surveillance camera will be higher, but will suffice for the conditions you are talking about.
