Connecting HTC One to AVR?

With my old Iphone it was as simple as plug in througg USB, Press USB channel on AVR...Play music on iTunes. Now I have an HTC One and I primarily use WinAmp for my music needs. I tried the same process as with the iPhone but the music kept playing through my phone only. Is there a setting on android or the HTC One I need to change? Or do I need to use an aux. cable?

id just get a stereo to RCA cable, they are cheap and guaranteed to work
