Connecting Harddrives??

Hi I have a Asus P4c800 Deluxe mother/b and i have two western digital h/drives conected (one is 40 gig the other 60 gig) both connected to the pri-IDE ( As master & slave .....As u do) i would like to know can i put a new hard drive running from the SATA-1 connection (as a slave) and leave the other drives as is!. can it work like that? i want to have a removable rack for this hard/drive and run it from SATA connector and be able to remove this drive any time i like? thanks for any input...............
