Connecting CRT to DVI via converter dongle on EVGA 7800GT

I have to connect a CRT to the card for the time being via the included converter dongle. Is there anything special I need to know about the software settings etc. when doing this?

I haven't needed to do that, but I don't think there's any issues with it. I know a ton of people do it.
