Right now, I have my computer connected to my TV using S-Video cables routed through my Onky TSX-503 Receiver.

However, I've noticed that when viewing the computer on the television, that the TV displays, but it has a horizontal line that moves vertically along the TV. This also occurs when I display my PS2 on my TV.

Is this a problem with my TV, receiver, or computer?

EDIT: Some more information. I tried connecting the PS2 and computer one at a time through the receiver, and bypassing the receiver (directly). Still had the same problems. I guess this narrows it down to the TV going? Thing is, it doesn't do this with regular cable TV. Just the inputs.

Possibly the TV. I remember a long time ago in 92 or 93, I had my Sega Mega Drive (Genesis in the States) hooked up to the old trusty Grundig. It'd been running fine for 2 years. Then in 92/93, A vertically scrolling horizontal line appeared when using the console. The tv signal was OK. Gradually, that line became two, then three, then a laser field. The TV signals started getting some of that too. Then, the tv "poofed" [according to the repairman]. So, I'd say the TV.

You should always start your own thread if it isn't the same issue with the same or similar hardware. That said, you probably just need to update your vid drivers, and/or config it through the graphics control panel. That or your cable may be borked.

To BigJ,

I'd post up over at AVSforums, one of the pro techs, will know that symptom and what the fix is, if there is one, immediately upon reading your thread. Good luck!
