Connecting computer to old TV (only composite inputs)

the audio cable ... absolutely yes ... just plug it into the headphone jack on the laptop and then the input l and r ports on teh TV.

The VGA to composite cable ... ummm .... it may "work" but it will probably look like shit. You may run into weird color space issues as well as you'll probably need to run at 480i, meaning you may need to find custom drivers...

You would probably need to find a transcoder to do what you want for video ... but maybe there's a cheaper modern option ...

Just be aware that PC connected to old TV will look ok for old games as a Mame box, but if you tried to read text on it, it would look really bad.

yah definite transcoder and most want you to run that output at 800x600 or some lowdicilous rate. remember that composite is REALLY low resolution in the usa? 240p?
