I have a 37 inch VIZIO LCD HDTV. It has a plethora of connection options.. among them HMDI. According to VIZIO themselves, other sources, and general common sense, HDMI offers the highest picture quality. Logic then dictates that given my 9800xt's DVI out... I should purchase a DVI to HDMI cable and simply plug it in to the TV for the highest picture quality.
However, I visited VIZIO's website and here is what they wrote:
"Computer: 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768, 1366x768 thru VGA/RGB or 640x480 thru HDMI"
What am I missing here? How can VGA offer a higher picture quality than HDMI?

Thoughts? Any additional information would be more than welcome.

Thanks

It shouldn't after all how does the TV know the difference between a computer and a DVD player?
Try it DVI->HDMI first, then try VGA, better yet, buy both cables from Monoprice.com.

Hm... it's just a matter of not being able to return the DVI -> HDMI cable if I were to open it. I got it from the Apple store when I was buying an iPod...

Any other thoughts?

Anyone else?

Thank monty and whomever may offer their advice henceforth. Know that it is much appreciated.

I ended up using VGA since overscan and various resolutions were a problem with the DVI cable. Monoprice is shizzle yo!

The best input depends on the monitor and its implementation. I've had better luck through the digital input, but others have had better success with analog.
