Connecting case to motherboard help

OK-I have an older motherboard and a newer case. I don't know the model number of the motherboard or any information about it. All I know is it's a compaq. I am trying to connect the case wires (led lights, power button, reset button, speaker) to the motherboard but there are not enough connector on the motherboard for all the case wires. Also, I don't know which connectors go where on the motherboard (there are maybe enough for 3 of the 5 case connectors on the motherboard). What can I do. I can actually get the computer to turn on but I have to use the reset switch on the power supply to turn it on and off, but I don't want to use the computer that way. I need to buy a new case anyway. Should i look for one that has a smaller number of case connectors? Is there such a case?

Get a new mobo, that Compaq mobo is proprietary

Your going to have to do a search at the Compaq website (use the system model number, example: Presario 2255) and get a positive ID on your mb, ...... then go to the correct support page for that mb and get the info for the connections ........
The Compaq's I have worked on, have proprietary case connectors that just plug in all at once, but the pins should either be marked in the manual (for the mb) or on the mb itself?
You might look at ANY other mb w/manual and get the abbreviation thats silk screened onto the board, although I'm not sure they will be the same that Compaq uses.
