I've been trying to hook up my pc to an XBR960 to watch movies etc. Right now the highest resolution i can use without getting a super blurry desktop is 1280x720. Anyone know of good settings to obtain the best picture? Maybe custom powerstrip resolutions/timings? Right now I'm using a 7800GTX with a dvi-hdmi cable and latest nvidia drivers/control panel.

Isn't that a 1080i/720p set? 720p is the best you can hope to achieve with text clarity since the interlaced mod would shimmer a little.

Maybe something between 1280x720 and 1920x1080.
like 1360x765 or 1440x810 or 1600x900 or 1760x990
Not sure otherwise. I think you don't even need powerstrip because the nvidia driver has alot of options for custom resolutions.

From what I remember, that was the last SuperFinePitch or whatever model, and had a non-standard "native" resolution - this is all from reading about that TV months ago, so double check to be sure.

Whether it would take that resolution if you passed it is another question. As someone else pointed out, AVSForum will be your friend here. They have a CRT section, and I believe the 960 has its own thread dedicated do it...heck of a lot of posts and views on it too.

I believe that the native resolution of the set is 1440x1080, or 1440 by 1080... Accounts differ. Since TV is set to scale the image, I don't know how good it'll look if you feed it a native 1400x1080, vs a 720p or 1080i/p.
