Connecting a wireless and wired router?

Hey I am thinking about picking up a laptop soon and I am very interested by its wireless internet technology. I currently own a Netgear RP614 with 3 slots being used by active computers and 1 outlet left. I was thinking about it and I was wondering if it is possible to use a crossover cable to link the last outlet on the wired modem to the internet port on the wireless modem.

You probably mean to connect an Access Point or a Wireless cable/DSL Router to your current Wired Router.
