Connecting a wired network to an open 802.11b net

So, I need to tie my company's wired network to an open wireless network for internet access. Our DSL died and, basically, SBC sucks so we have no idea when it will be back up.

There is an open wireless network that we can access from the office.

We bought an access point (linksys BEFW11S4) and I'm trying to figure out how to configure it to connect to the open wireless network.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Matt

First, have you been give permission to access this network ?
I believe you need to set it up as a client for multiple computers.

Well, it looks like what I bought won't work as a client. I should have came here before we bought anything!

The wireless network is in a hotel across the street for the use of their guests. Legally do I have permission to connect to their network, no, but I am not hacking into a private network, either.

The only thing you can do with their network is access the internet.

What hotel is it and what town are you in? I'd like to make a phone call. You see nothing wrong with this? Amazing your asking for help on a board and actually telling of your plan to steal this hotel's bandwidth. They may be equally ignorant for not protecting it but unless it is a known and public hotspot then what your suggesting is at minimum unethical and low f'n budget. Are you actually the person responsible for IT within your company and does the boss actually know and approve of this little plan of yours? Hard to imagine they have any reasonable code of conduct and know what your contemplating. I'd fire you on the spot.

How would you feel if they told their guests to go and plug in to your etherent ports?
