I have a device (V-amp 2) I would like to connect to my computer through a midi cable, and while my soundcard has a Joystick/MIDI connection on the board itself, I was wondering where I could find a bracket to connect to this so that I can put it on the back of my pc (take up one of my pci slots in the back. Thanks.

Hi, If you are talking about the JoyStick/Midi 15 pin conndector on the sound card, you will need an adaptor to use the Midi. I haven't seen the Midi adaptor in many years, but you may find one on the internet. The last one I used I had to make. It's only a pair of Op Amps, a few resistors and connectors. Luck, Jim

Hi Again, I should have also mentioned that if you can't find the sound card adaptor you could get a PCI Midi Port card. It would serve the same purpose and would be independent of the sound card. It could still play through the sound card if you didn't want to hook up a keyboard. Roland makes such a thing and I am sure there are lots of others. Google for Midi and you will find a lot of good info. Luck, Jim

Edit: Just took a look at your picture. My son is a keyboardist with a group and has been for years. He has all kinds of MIDI. That' the reason I got into it. I was a Big Band musician in the 40 and 50s. Jim

Well, I just found out my card has no Midi capablities :( I made another thread though asking about getting a cheap sound card for this purpose.
