Connecting a led diode to a flat usb stick

I want to connect a diode to the usb shown on the picture but since the usb is flat i cannot just solder the diode in the ordinary way. Iam wondering what those 4 mini pins or connection pads are? I dont have multimeter or something to check for voltage.
