I cannot figure out how to make my laptop display on a screen. I have an ibm thinkpad 600x. I recently purchased a adapter cord (goes from vga to s-video and/or a vga rca composite) from ebay, that I cannot get to work (I pretty sure I'm hooking it up correctly). It looks like this one. I was wondering if anyone had any idea how to convert the standard old vga monitor output to a tv. I have used the monitor output to display on a monitor and it works just fine. Also, when I hooked up my new cord, I got it to display, but it was weird looking (it had three tall skinny desktops displayed in black and white, and you couldn't really see anything). Anyone got any advice or have done this before? Any help would totally rock! Thanks in advance!!

P.S. I know I posted this in a couple forums, I didn't realize they had a video forum until I posted it somewhere else. Thanks!

Try changing the refresh rate on your laptop, and also the screen size... I am not sure if this will solve your problem but maybe it will clean the picture up a little bit. I had that problem with a laptop being hooked up to an old external monitor, the monitor would flicker because the refresh rate wasnt supported. So try changing that and maybe you will get lucky and it will work

I tried to change the refresh rate, but it wouldn't let me. I recognized there being a second monitor (default monitor), but it wouldn't let me change the refresh rate on that either. I did change the resolution and the color quality, but it didn't do any good. Anyone else have any ideas??

Set the screen size to 640x480. Also turn on the TV before you start the computer. What kind of video card do you have?

I actually did both of those things. I tried changing the refresh rate around as well. The video card is a NeoMagic MagicGraph256ZX. Thanks for the help so far!!
