I have a digital camera from JVC (GR-DVM5), and I'd like to know what is necessary to transfer the videos to my PC... cables, any extra board?

You will need a Firewire card for your computer and a firewire cable to connect the camera to the card.
 
So I DO need a Firewire card? *sigh* How much does it cost? Is it necessary just for videos? What if I wanted to transfer photos?
